ROCKPORT — Camden Hills Regional High School takes its fall musical, Something Rotten!, to the Strom Auditorium, in Rockport, on November 10, 11, 17, and 18, at 7 p.m., as well as November 12 and 19, at 2 p.m.

The heart of Something Rotten! is a raucous musical comedy that revolves around two brothers on an audacious mission: to create the world’s first musical. Their aspirations hit an unexpected snag when they find themselves competing with none other than the Renaissance rock-star “The Bard.” Seeking guidance from a soothsayer, they catch a glimpse of the enchanting world of twentieth-century Broadway and learn that the only way to be successful is “to thine own self be true.”

This production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI).

“Prepare for a night of laughter and entertainment with a brilliant book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, complemented by captivating music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick,” said CHRHS, in a news release.

This summer, the theatre students had the opportunity to attend a performance of Something Rotten! at Maine State Music Theatre.

“Not only did this experience deepen their love for the stage, but it also stoked their excitement for our own upcoming production,” said the release.

Please be aware that Something Rotten! has a PG-13 rating due to some adult language and content.
